BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – Garrard, jeweller to the world’s royalty and the oldest jewellery house in the world, today announced the opening of its first US Flagship store. The store is nestled on the corner of Wilshire and Rodeo and evokes feelings of history and elegance, combined with distinctly British overtures.

The store will boast luminous ceiling-to-floor chandeliers, conceived by David Wilkinson, the chandelier maker to Buckingham Palace and the design of both floors has been maximised to provide a balance between light and reflection that creates a world of lavishness, prosperity and indulgence. The ideal setting within which to view some of the world’s greatest treasures.

For the first time ever, the public will be able to catch a glimpse of some exceptional treasures. ‘The Great Chrysanthemum’, a 104.5 carat fancy brown orange pear shape diamond, an extraordinary jewel, mounted as the central stone in a platinum necklace of marquise, pear and round-shaped diamonds. Alongside this will sit, what is widely known as the most magnificent ruby in the world, ‘The Heart Of The Kingdom’, a faceted heart shape Burma ruby of 40.63 carats a stone of an exceptionally rich colour. Next will rest the ‘Cleopatra’, a 99 carat sapphire, recently acquired by the jeweller, which has been seen and held by only a handful of people world-wide. These are but three of the treasures and fine gems held by the jeweller and available to view in the LA store.

However, it is not just these timeless one of a kind treasures that will draw you inside. Garrard is inspired by the passion and wonder of wearing the finest jewellery and by the drive to continually raise the bar in innovation in design and craftsmanship. Much of their experience has inspired the design of some of the most exquisite and inventive collections available in the market.

The “Knightrider’ collection, created to optimise valour, strength and honour is perceived in the market as one of the most cutting edge collections of recent times. The Garrard signature ‘Wings’ collection, favoured by celebrities, is a contemporary design that signifies peace, protection and purity. Alongside these collections will sit the inherently majestic ‘Regal’, ‘Engagement’, ‘Tiara’ and ‘Timeless’ collections, all using unique jewels that are among the rarest in the world.

With a rich legacy dating back to 1735, Garrard have harnessed their historic roots and continue to use this history to deliver timeless pieces that epitomize luxury. Garrard’s royal heritage began in 1843, when Queen Victoria honoured Garrard with the title of Crown Jeweller, the renowned house has since served six successive monarchs. Garrard’s craftsmen and jewellery experts have created and maintained the most important jewels in the United Kingdom, the “Crown Jewels”, including the making of Queen Mary’s Crown for the Coronation in 1911; the Imperial Crown of India worn by King George V; and the resetting of the legendary Koh-i-noor diamond for Queen Victoria. Many of Garrard’s pieces are in museums such as the H.M Tower of London, national institutions and priceless private collections around the world.

Garrard’s rich heritage ensures that customers will feel like royalty while wearing their jewellery, just as Garrard has dressed the world’s royalty with its exquisite jewellery, it will deliver the same royal treatment to its American customers.
